The Digital Signatures Act 1997 -
"Hardline" digital signature legislation
where rule of law requires signature, satisfied by digital signature which complies with the Act
document signed with digital signature in accordance with the Act is legally binding as if signed by hand etc.
any message is as valid enforceable and effective as if it had been written on paper if signed with digital signature created and verified in accordance with Act
proof of digital signature is by way of certificate issued by licensed certifying authority
