Mark Hayes is a partner in Davies, Ward & Beck's Technology & Communications group. His practice focuses on commercial, administrative, privacy and intellectual property law matters relating to information technology, e-commerce, telecommunications, new media and broadcasting. He is recognized as one of Canada's leading Internet and e-commerce lawyers and one of the top 200 Internet and e-commerce lawyers in the world. Mark has extensive experience dealing with Canadian federal tribunals, including the Copyright Board and the CRTC. He is acting as counsel to the Canadian Association of Internet Providers, the Canadian Cable Television Association and Bell Canada in respect of the Canadian Copyright Board hearings into SOCAN Tariff 22, the world's first Internet music tariff. Mark is a member of the Editorial Board of Cyberspace Lawyer and Chair of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario's Information Technology Industry Section and has written and lectured extensively in Canada and abroad on issues relating to entertainment law, technology and the Internet.
