Tod Cohen serves as Washington Counsel, Director of Government Affairs for eBay. Tod organizes and manages domestic and global public policy for eBay, the world's largest consumer e-Commerce site. Some of the issues that Mr. Cohen coordinates for eBay include: international market access; Internet taxation; online privacy; intellectual property and database protection. Mr. Cohen currently serves on the Department of Commerce/U.S. Trade Representative Industry Functional Advisory Committee on Electronic Commerce.
Prior to joining eBay, Mr. Cohen was Vice President and Counsel of New Media for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Mr. Cohen's responsibilities for MPAA included electronic commerce, Internet governance and online privacy. Mr. Cohen was extensively involved in both the iCraveTV.com and the DVD DeCSS cases. Before joining MPAA, Mr. Cohen served as European Legal Counsel for the Business Software Alliance in the London offices of the American law firm Covington & Burling.
Mr. Cohen received his B.A. from the University of Utah in 1985 and his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 1992. Before attending law school, Mr. Cohen worked for two Members of the United States House of Representatives (Jim Moody, D-WI and Wayne Owens, D-UT).
