To ensure a robust and leading-edge information infrastructure:
• we are building the next generation network in partnership with the private sector --- CANARIE, which I mentioned earlier, will be the world=s fastest, first all-optical research network (CA*net-3); and
• at home and abroad, we are active in developing standards for open networks.
