John L. Gedid
Professor of Law
Widener University School of Law
John L. Gedid is Professor of Law at Widener's Harrisburg campus.
Professor Gedid received a B.A. summa cum laude from the University
of Pittsburgh in 1963; a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in
1967, where he served as Comment Editor of the Duquesne Law Review and, an
LL.M. from Yale Law School in 1976. Following graduation from law school,
Professor Gedid clerked for the U.S. District Court, Western District PA,
from 1967-68; Associate in Private Practice from 1968-72; Assistant
Professor of Law, Duquesne, from 1972-74; Associate Professor of Law,
Duquesne, from 1974-77; Professor of Law, Duquesne, from 1977-81, 1982-89;
Acting Dean, Duquesne, 1982. Professor Gedid joined the faculty at Widener
in 1989 as Professor of Law and served as Associate Dean for the Harrisburg
Campus from 1989-95. Professor Gedid is admitted to practice in
Pennsylvania. Professor teaches and writes in the areas of Administrative
Law, Contracts, Sales & Leases. He is an elected member of The American Law
Institute. He is the Official Reporter of Decisions (editor and publisher)
for The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, and editor of the Newsletter of
the Administrative Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is an
appointed member of the Civil Procedural Rules Committee of The Supreme
Court of Pennsylvania, where he chairs several subcommittees. Professor
Gedid is chair of the ABA Jurisdiction in Cyberspace Sale of Goods
Subcommittee.
