Jenny Clift
Legal Officer
United States Commission on International Trade Law
Jenny Clift is a Legal Officer with the United Nations Commission on
International Trade Law. Her responsibilities include the Working Group on
Electronic Commerce and she is Secretary of the Working Group on Insolvency
Law. Before joining UNCITRAL in 1998, Ms Clift was Principal Legal Officer
with the Australian Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department, Office of
International Law. In 1997/98 she chaired the Commonwealth
Attorney-General's Expert Group on Electronic Commerce, which was tasked
with advising on the legal framework needed for electronic commerce,
including adoption of the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce. She was
also a member of the National Public Key Infrastructure Working Group, set
up to consider strategies for an Australian national electronic
authentication framework, and advised a number of other Commonwealth
projects on electronic commerce legal issues. Between 1994 to 1998, Ms
Clift was Australian delegate to UNCITRAL's Working Group on Electronic
Commerce.
