Joe Gottlieb is Vice President of Product Management for the security infrastructure unit within Nokia Internet Communications. In this role, Mr. Gottlieb is responsible for managing a complete line of security appliances, comprising leading security applications (from Nokia and industry partners like Check Point Software Technologies, Internet Security Systems, and McAfee), tightly integrated networking and management software, and a family of hardware platforms that defines a broad range of price/performance. Mr. Gottlieb has held this position since April 2000.

For fourteen years, Mr. Gottlieb has participated in the information technology industry as a business executive, industry analyst, consultant, and futurist. Prior to his current role, Mr. Gottlieb served as Vice President of Business Development for the security infrastructure unit within Nokia Internet Communications. Previous to joining Nokia in July 1999, Mr. Gottlieb was CEO of FirstMatter, a group of futurists defining socio-economic discontinuities related to information technology. Before joining FirstMatter, Mr. Gottlieb was an Executive Vice President of META Group where he held numerous leadership positions in the areas of IT industry analysis, marketing, sales, extranet development, and publications.
