Michael Donovan is a partner in the San Francisco office of Hancock,
Rothert & Bunshoft LLP. His practice includes intellectual property and
commercial litigation, Internet and technology license and service
agreements, and technology insurance consulting.
Mr. Donovan has extensive jury trial experience, including the
successful defense of a patent infringement case involving medical
products, LifeScan v. Home Diagnostics, 103 F.Supp. 2d 379 (D. Del.
2000), and he was lead trial counsel in FMC v. Liberty Mutual Insurance
Co., 61 Cal.App. 4th 1132 (1998), a series of jury trials involving one
half billion dollars in claims.
Mr. Donovan's technology insurance practice includes assisting clients
to develop insurance policies covering intellectual property, internet
liabilities and first party data losses. He also conducts legal reviews
of technology and Internet risks and has spoken and written on emerging
liability and insurance issues involving the Internet.
