Shogo Asanuma is a long-time corporate marketing manager at Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, overseeing business development in information technology as well as sales promotion for audio-visual and communication networks.
Since July 2001, Mr. Asanuma has been on leave from Matsushita to serve as research director for ECOM, the Electronic Commerce of Council of Japan. In that capacity he manages the Working Group on Personal Data Protection and Privacy. Current activities include revision of ECOM's guidelines for personal data protection in e-commerce. In addition the Working Group is researching current best practices in personal data protection in businesses throughout Japan.
Mr. Asanuma received a law degree from Hitotsubashi University in 1981.
